It’s hard to try something new
Every Accomplishment Starts With The Decision To Try…
Whether it is a personal goal, a business goal or a fitness goal, you can’t reach your goals without trying. That is very true but it is also very scary. It is hard to walk into a new job, city, gym, whatever for the first time. You don’t know what to expect and every person (yes, even the toughest guy) wants to be accepted in that new environment.
So, how do you psych yourself up to walk in for the first time? Or how to you convince yourself to go back after being away for a while? Let’s think about going to the gym, what are you thinking when you get to the door?
I think about past experiences and about not following through. I think about the 1,001 reasons I shouldn’t open the door. Do I walk away? Sometimes. Is that the right choice? Probably not. More often than not, I open that door. I walk in and I TRY. It is a conscious decision to TRY to change myself for the better. To TRY to improve my life and health. And to TRY new things which may turn out to be something I really enjoy.
By choosing to try something new, your goals are made to feel attainable. If I can take this one step, I am one step closer to my goal. I am one step closer to my goal weight. I am one step closer to that 5K (or marathon). I am one step closer to being a healthier person for myself and my family.
You just have to be willing to TRY!
