What motivates you to train?

Tuesday, 5:30pm: Do I choose to stay home and watch tv or do I choose to go to fitness kickboxing at the gym? I come up with at least 10 excuses why I should just stay home. I’m tired. I haven’t been to class in two weeks and will look like an idiot. It’s too hot out. The list keeps going but there is one thing that sticks out in my mind, I will feel so much better if I go to class.

Does anyone else have that inner battle whenever you think about going to exercise? Do you think that you need to get in shape before you can go to a class? Do you think that everyone else at the gym will know what to do and might not tolerate a beginner? I don’t think I am the only one who goes through this but I do know that getting off the couch and coming to class does so much more than make me sweaty and tired. Working out is proven to release hormones that make you feel happy and more energized. You feel exhilarated after completing a rough work out or learning and drilling a new move. So why do people fight it?

Just some thoughts running through my mind as I listen to Jiu Jitsu being taught by Coach Dan in the gym. So, what motivates you to train and when will we be seeing you in the gym?
